Seqwater is a Statutory Authority of the Queensland Government and one of Australia’s largest water businesses. Your new position
As a Cultural Heritage Officer, you will provide expert technical advice and support to ensure Seqwater is compliant with legislative, policy and whole of government obligations, consistent with the Burra Charter heritage management practices in the management of non-Indigenous and Indigenous heritage matters.
In this role, you will guide the planning, design and delivery of Seqwater’s capital and operational work programs to ensure impacts to non-indigenous and indigenous heritage are mitigated and managed effectively. This includes undertaking risk assessments, and the preparation of approvals and agreements with stakeholders, including regulatory authorities and Traditional Owner groups. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of Seqwater’s cultural heritage compliance systems and promote awareness of cultural heritage obligations across the business ensuring positive, sustainable and balanced cultural heritage practices are implemented.

To see you succeed in this values-led organisation you will have a degree in archaeology, heritage management, heritage conservation, anthropology, or equivalent. You will have significant professional experience in a directly relevant position and have a high level of understanding and knowledge of applicable legislation and heritage practice, as well as the following:

This position has been graded in accordance with Seqwater’s EBA as a AO7 with a salary of $108,637.97 plus up to 12.75% superannuation
