Palm Island Community Company (PICC) is seeking a suitably qualified Early Childhood Teacher with experience in managing early childhood education and family support programs. PICC’s early childhood and family support programs are encompassed by the PICC Children and Family Centre (CFC) on Palm Island.
The purpose of the Early Childhood Education Coordinator is to create, facilitate and manage early childhood programs, including adjunct care and playgroups and implement processes to increase access to kindergarten and child care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. The position will also be required to manage and supervise staff delivering early childhood services who are employed by the CFC program and through other funding sources.
It is mandatory that the successful applicant have the following,
Regular travel between Townsville and Palm Island will be required as well as occasional overnight stays on Palm Island. All travel and accommodation expenses are covered by PICC.
This is a challenging role that will enable the incumbent to make a real difference by providing quality educational opportunities to young children and families on Palm Island.
